Get Your Garden Ready

Starting your garden in the right way makes a big difference.

  • Pick a sunny spot. Plants need sun to grow well. Find a place with lots of sunlight.
  • Stay safe. Wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and use gloves and safe tools when gardening.

Choose The Right Plants

Choosing the right plants helps your garden thrive.

  • Plant for the season. Some plants grow better in spring, and others in summer.
  • Ask for help. You can ask at a local nursery or check a planting chart to find the best plants

Tools You Need

Having the right tools makes gardening easier.

  • Hand shovel: Helps you dig holes for plants.
  • Gloves: Protect your hands while working.
  • Watering can or hose: Keeps your plants hydrated.

Taking Care Of Your Garden

These tips will help keep your garden healthy.

  • Use mulch. Mulch keeps moisture in the soil and stops weeds from growing.
  • Feed your plants. Use Osmocote every three months to help your plants grow.
  • Control weeds. Pull out weeds so your plants stay strong.
  • Stop pests. If bugs are a problem, try organic neem oil to keep them away.

How To Water Your Plants

Watering plants the right way helps them grow.

  • Check the soil. Touch the soil with your finger. If it feels wet, do not water. If it feels dry, add water.
  • Water slowly. Water at the base of the plant, not on the leaves. This helps prevent disease.
  • Use worms. Red wiggler worms can help make the soil rich and healthy.

Why Gardening Is Awesome!

Gardening is a great way to learn and have fun.

  • Learn new skills. Gardening teaches patience and responsibility.
  • Feel good. Spending time with plants can reduce stress and make you feel happy.
  • Be creative. You get to decide what to plant and watch it grow over time.
  • Share the love. If you grow extra vegetables, share them with friends and family!
